| Puma | If a vehicle crunches into 3rd or 4th gear and is fitted with an MTX 75 or VXT 75 gearbox the cause may be a defective 3rd/4th gear synchronizer assembly. To rectify the concern, a new synchronizer assembly, new 3rd gear and a new 3rd/4th gear selector fork should be installed. (The MTX 75 gear box has the reverse gate lever on the gear stick) | ||||

Focus iB5 Gearbox Some of the Focus's with the iB5 gearbox developed a leak from the gearbox. This was due to one of the detents not being torqued to the correct specification and subsequently working loose or even falling out. Providing the gearbox had not run dry the cure was to refit the detent to the correct torque and refill the gearbox with the correct oil. |

Clutch arms most models with cable clutches Should the clutch suddenly fail on a cable operated clutch system it is possible for the clutch arm to fracture, this leads to a loose clutch pedal and very poor clutch action. On most models this is easy to replace and just needs un-bolting and the new one fitted. The arm is master splined and should only go on one way round. |
