OHV Tappets adjustment (Escorts, Fiesta and Ka)
When adjusting Ford OHV tappets using the rule
of 9 principle, there is a short cut.
Turn the engine over so that number 1 cylinder
is rocking and adjust number 4 cylinder as normal BUT you can also adjust
the Exhaust valve of number 3 cylinder and the Inlet valve of number 2
Then rotate the engine so that number 4 cylinder
is rocking and adjust number 1 cylinder as normal and this time you can
adjust the Inlet of number 3 cylinder and the Exhaust of number 2 cylinder.
It doesn't sound particularly revolutionary but
it speeds the task up and minimises the amount of times you have to rotate
