Air Bags
WARNING
Air bags can be very dangerous if
you do not handled
correctly. If you are unsure about anything do not carry out any work on
them or the circuits.
You must wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery before
disconnecting the air bag module or any other
supplemental restraint system electrical connectors. Failure to follow
these instructions can greatly increase the possibility of accidentally deploying
the air bags and as a result, cause personal injury.
The use of radio keycode savers is not recommended when working on any
part of the air bag system. Failure to follow these instructions can
greatly increase the possibility of accidentally deploying
the air bags and as a result, cause personal injury.

Always wear safety glasses when working on an air bag system or a
vehicle equipped with an air bag.
Always carry an un-deployed air bag with the bag pointing away from the
body, this will minimise potential injuries if the air bag is accidentally
deployed.
Always place/store an un-deployed air bag with the bag facing up.
Wash your hands thoroughly after handling a deployed air bag
because there may be deposits of sodium
hydroxide which can be a skin irritant.
Air Bag Lights
The Air bag light will illuminate to indicate a
fault with the air bag circuit. It will also flash a code to indicate which part
of the circuit is at fault.
This page
explains what the flash codes refer to and how to cure them and also a few
tricks of the trade which will save you a trip to the garage and save you
money
